Standard High School Diploma

New Learning Resources Online

Students who complete the Standard track will earn an education that meets all Mississippi state standards and will receive a MDE and SACS-CASI accredited high school diploma. To enroll in the New Learning Resources Online Standard High School Diploma Program, a student must have already earned 10.0 credits prior to entry.  This program prepares students for many post-school options including, but not limited to:  postsecondary institutions, military, and employment.  A student must earn 24 credits to graduate which include the following:

• English (4.0 credits)
  

• Math (4.0 credits)
  

• Science (4.0 credits)
  

• Social Studies (4.0 credits)
  

• Computer Application (1.0 credits)
  

• Health (.5 credits)
  

• Foreign Language/Application (1.0 credits)
  

• Art (1.0 credits)
  

• Advanced Elective (1.0 credits)
  

• Electives (4.5 credits)

All credits earned through the New Learning Resources Standard High School Online Diploma Program (HSSD) may be transferred if the student chooses to change to the Career Diploma Program.  No credits earned through the CD program may be transferred, except for trade credits, if the student chooses to change to the HSSD program.

New Learning Resources Online (NLRO) is accredited by the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC). NLRO is the distance learning division of North New Summit School which is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and School Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI), and the Mississippi Department of Education (MDE).
